In this edition of Amber, we have featured the first mandarin hockey broadcast at BU. Meanwhile, we will focus on the Oscar-winning animated short, Bao, and discuss the parent-child relationship reflected through the movie. We will also invite American students to do the Chinese College English Test and see how they perform.

Recently, the media, corporations, and the general public have engaged in a discussion about some of the characteristics of traditional masculinity could be considered toxic and should be reevaluated. Guests professor Barbara Gottfried of Boston University’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program and Applied Human Development professor and author Dr. Diane Levin.

In this Chinese New Year speicial edition, we will learn some essential words and phrases you need to know for the New Year. We will also explore New Year’s customs and traditions, such as couplets, with some American students. Finally, we will experience the New Year through the eyes of BU students.
