Bay State recognized for excellence in student programming

BOSTON, Mass. – May 6, 2009 – butv10, Boston University's student-run television station announced today that it is the recipient of a 2009 Telly Award. Bay State, the nation’s longest-running college soap opera was selected as a winner from over 13,000 entries in the 30th annual competition. This award is the fourth national recognition for the station within the last year.

“This is excellent news for butv10 and Bay State,” said Assistant Professor Christophor Cavalieri, butv10’s Faculty Advisor. “Two Tellys, a Webby nomination and an Aegis Award within the past twelve months indicate organizational quality and effort. Although acknowledgement from external evaluation isn’t the only way to measure success, we’re proud knowing that multiple national recognitions validate what butv10 has been working towards since its inception.”

“To be recognized for our hard work on a national level is truly an honor,” said Executive Producer Josh Brown (COM’09). “It’s been a privilege serving as the leader of such a dedicated and talented cast and crew, and I can’t think of a better way to end our 19th season.”
