Inside Boston is recognized for excellence in student programming
BOSTON, Mass. – April 9, 2010 – butv10, Boston University's student-run television station announced today that it’s the recipient of a 2010 Telly Award. Inside Boston, the channel’s news magazine program was selected as a winner in the 31st annual competition. This is the organization’s third Telly Award in consecutive years.
“I am proud of Inside Boston and butv10,” said Assistant Professor Christophor Cavalieri, butv10’s Faculty Advisor. “Three Telly awards in three years is a significant accomplishment, but what’s more impressive is that three different butv10 programs have earned the honor. I think that achievement more accurately reflects all the effort of the entire organization. The students are excited and they should be.”
This award is a tremendous honor,” said Megan Peet (COM ‘10), Co-Executive Producer for the program. “We could not have done it without each member of our fantastic staff.” Co-Executive Producer, Daniela Guernica (COM ’10) added, “The Inside Boston team has worked very hard throughout the season and to be recognized with a Telly is rewarding and motivating.

Training begins tomorrow, and continues throughout the next few weeks. Here are the details:
• All new members must attend one of the two weekly sessions (Monday and Wednesday are the same presentation)
• Sessions are held in Studio East (third floor of COM) from 5:30 to 7:00
• You may begin working with individual shows and projects during the training period as long as you're up-to-date with training
• We’re tracking participation and completion

• Tomorrow, September 14 or Wednesday, September 16
• Monday, September 21 or Wednesday, September 23
• Monday, September 28 or Wednesday, September 30
• Monday, October 5 or Wednesday, October 7

We're off to a great 2009.
Over 250 students crammed into our annual General Interest Meeting last night; the standing room only crowd was the largest in the station's history. And less than 12 hours after the meeting, almost 70% of attendees registered as part of our 12+ shows and projects.

Bay State recognized for excellence in student programming
BOSTON, Mass. – May 6, 2009 – butv10, Boston University's student-run television station announced today that it is the recipient of a 2009 Telly Award. Bay State, the nation’s longest-running college soap opera was selected as a winner from over 13,000 entries in the 30th annual competition. This award is the fourth national recognition for the station within the last year.
“This is excellent news for butv10 and Bay State,” said Assistant Professor Christophor Cavalieri, butv10’s Faculty Advisor. “Two Tellys, a Webby nomination and an Aegis Award within the past twelve months indicate organizational quality and effort. Although acknowledgement from external evaluation isn’t the only way to measure success, we’re proud knowing that multiple national recognitions validate what butv10 has been working towards since its inception.”
“To be recognized for our hard work on a national level is truly an honor,” said Executive Producer Josh Brown (COM’09). “It’s been a privilege serving as the leader of such a dedicated and talented cast and crew, and I can’t think of a better way to end our 19th season.”

BOSTON, MASS. – April 23, 2009 – butv10 announced today that it has been nominated for Best Student Website in the 13th Annual Webby Awards.
Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.
“butv10’s web presence is rapidly evolving in content, capability and design,” said Assistant Professor Christophor Cavalieri, butv10’s Faculty Advisor. “The webmaster and the students who prepare content for distribution deserve the recognition. This accomplishment appropriately reflects the effort and energy of the entire organization.”
"Nominees like butv10 are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of the Webby Awards. "It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the nearly 10,000 entries we received this year."
The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 650-person judging academy whose members include Internet co-inventor Vinton Cerf, R/GA's Chief Bob Greenberg, "Simpson's" creator Matt Groening, Arianna Huffington, and Harvey Weinstein.
