During my time with BUTV10, I ….

– Associate Producer of ‘Offsides’ from 2006-07, Co-Producer from 2007-2009, and then Executive Producer in 2009-10. Wrote, directed, edited each episode of Offsides from 2007-2010.

-Producing ‘Offsides’ forced me to take on heavy workloads, balance personell, and hit deadlines – all three skills are very necessary working in the television industry.

– Lead Actor on ‘Shadows’ portraying the role of Captain John Bauer.

– Acting on ‘Shadows’ reaffirmed to me that my future was behind a camera rather than in front of one

At BUTV10 what I learned, like much of the industry, the experience is what you make of it. I wanted to become as involved as possible and assume different roles on different shows. This was totally up to me in my time at BU and having a wide skillset helped give me confidence to assume any role anyone asked for me on larger, professional productions.

Since BUTV10, I’ve…

Production Assistant at New England Sports Network from 2010-2011. Assumed editing, graphic, and other various production roles while working on studio sports recap shows and pre and post-game shows for the Bruins. Worked 109 games of the Bruins Stanley Cup winning 2011 season.

Production Assistant at NHL Network from 2011-2013. Wanted to relocate out of Boston and an opportunity at the NHL Network headquarters in New York City became available. Worked as the lead graphic operator and researcher for the daily early evening NHL round up show while providing graphic support on Network game broadcasts and the World Junior Tournament.

Associate Producer II at WWE 2013-present. Changed gears as the NHL returned from a lockout. Part of the traveling road production crew that broadcasts live shows at least twice a weeks, every week of the year. Have assumed roles as a commercial and director associate, graphic AD, and now assuming a role as the Tape AD working directly with the executive producer on location for Monday Night RAW, SmackDown Live, and any PPV throughout the year including WrestleMania.

My advice to current BUTV10 students is…

My advice to current BUTV 10 students is to take every advantage of all that is offered at the school of Communications be it in the class room or on any show on BUTV10. Additionally, take full advantage of being in Boston and intern as much as you can. You’re going to have to work for free before you work for pay. Boston offers tremendous opportunities in the industry and it’s important to make connections. Be ready to make sacrifices to earn a job and the trust of senior members of the TV industry. Don’t be a yes-man/woman, ask questions when appropriate especially if you don’t understand something and always be willing to take on a task asked of you, no matter how big or how small.

My number one lesson I’ve learned since joining the industry is…

The number one lesson I’ve learned being in this industry is that hard work wins out no matter what and also that this is a called communication business for a reason – good, proper, respectful communication is key to building trust and earning opportunities.
